GIRLS LACROSSE PROGRAMS GRADES 1-8
Wayland Youth Lacrosse players in grades 1st-8th participate in the Classic Program in which they practice once or twice a week and play games on Sundays. Sunday games vary by time and location. Lacrosse teams are dual grades grouped together in teams that are balanced with both grades and ability levels. Teams are grouped as 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8.
The lower youth divisions (grades 1/2 & 3/4) introduce players to the fundamental lacrosse skills, drills, and game situations. Lower youth games are smaller sided games and include goalies or shot blockers.
The upper youth divisions (grades 5/6 & 7/8) introduce players to more complex offensive and defensive lacrosse concepts and game-like situations, and reviews fundamental lacrosse skills and drills. Upper Youth games are full field games that include goalies.
