Back by popular demand, Wayland Youth Lacrosse will offer "Learn to Love Lacrosse" to Kindergarten and Pre-K (entering K in Fall 2025) players for the Spring 2025 season.

"Learn to Love Lacrosse" is a 5-week program that introduces lacrosse in a fun & encouraging atmosphere to our littlest laxers!  Players will learn about lacrosse, make new friends, run all over the field, and above all else, have tons of FUN!

Q: Who can sign up?

Wayland Boys and Girls who are currently in kindergarten or who will start kindergarten in Sept. 2025.

Q: When is practice?

We will hold 1 hour Saturday afternoon practices from May 3- June 7 (no practice on Memorial Day Weekend.  Rain day make-up: 6/14).

Q: What Equipment does my child need?

Just a lacrosse stick and sneakers/cleats.  No padding, mouthguards, helmets etc. are required.  We will play with soft balls and will prioritize stick safety throughout every practice.

Q: What stick do you recommend for beginners?

The Warrior Evo WARP Mini is great stick for all beginners due to its deep pocket.  It works for both boys and girls at this level to help build their confidence and stick skills.  An important note is that this stick will not be within regulations for the girls once they are in 1^st grade.  The STX Crux Jr Complete is an alternative for the girls that can be used at this level and through 1^st grade.   

Q: Who will be coaching?

WYL Coaches will lead each practice with High School Varsity Lacrosse players as assistant coaches.

Q: Can parents volunteer?

Yes please!  Indicate your willingness to volunteer when filling out the registration and we’ll be in touch before the first practice.  No lacrosse experience necessary!
